Emerging in late 2018 from Manchester (UK), Hotrod Deathtoll is the solo project of Toronto born multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, Ben B.

Formed as an outlet for fuzz-drenched riffs, hard driving rhythm and hook-laden song writing.            Hotrod Deathtoll occupies the space between stoner rock, doom, garage punk and high-energy heavy rock. The project has been described as "stoner-punk", but its sound is more sharply defined Ben's own label: "Piston-core" - a feral, fuel injected blend of grit, groove and speed.

Drawing together the garage-punk filth of the Stooges with the molten desert swing of Kyuss, Hotrod Deathtoll delivers songs that are loud, relentless and built for momentum.

The debut LP, Superfuzz Suplex, introduced Hotrod Deathtoll with 9 high-energy tracks and established the project’s signature mix of high-octane fuzz, salty rhythms and paint-stripping riffs. With a reputation for marrying raw force to memorable hooks, the music balances swagger and heaviness with a sense of urgency that never lets up.

Beyond the debut, the project widened its palette with the 4 track EP: Widowing The Block, experimenting with new textures and paying tribute to a broad range of influences, from the twin-guitar strut of Thin Lizzy to the gothic weight of Type O Negative, the hard-hitting groove of Black Label Society and the restless spirit of rockabilly.

The follow-up album, Squarewave Airwaves, released in April 2026, continues the evolution of Hotrod Deathtoll’s sound while pushing deeper into the project’s distinct sonic identity.

Looking ahead, Hotrod Deathtoll shows no sign of slowing down.

A four-track, punk-infused EP is set for release in June, pushing the project further into its raw, DIY spirit. Featuring the title Hadaway n Shite — a nod to Ben’s years living in Newcastle in the North East of England — the release channels a more cynical, bitter and at times darkly comic perspective on the grind of everyday life. It also includes a comical Celtic-punk-style tribute to Ben’s current hometown of Stockport, adding another layer of personality to Hotrod Deathtoll’s expanding catalogue.

A third album, Buried Beneath the Pines, is also currently in production, marking the next stage in the project’s evolution. Set to explore a darker, more atmospheric direction, the record promises to expand the Hotrod Deathtoll sound once again while retaining the grit and intensity at its core.

Hotrod Deathtoll - SuperFuzz Suplex

"The perfect soundtrack for when you have a Dodge Challenger you need to deliver in record time". Well Hotrod Deathtoll crazies, we could not have said it better! SuperFuzz Suplex is fast paced, high energy rock'n roll that floors the fuzz, stomps the stoner and pedals the punk to the absolute brink of speed explosion!

DenpaFuzz:

Hotrod Deathtoll and his debut "SuperFuzz Suplex", brings heavy-rock energies with punk tones that fuse with desert-rock vibrations. Moments that approach Clutch with squeaky and dynamic solos handled with effectiveness. Fuzz in torrents on a thick bass and forceful drums. Fun and compelling choruses. With a nod to Thin Lizzy including a cover of "Don't believe a word". A whole storm of the desert arrival from British land from which you cannot escape.
